What is Invisalign and how Does it work?

Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that uses clear, plastic aligners to gradually straighten teeth. Salmon Creek Dental is a proud provider of Invisalign treatment in Vancouver, WA. Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible and can be easily removed for eating, brushing, and flossing.

The Invisalign treatment process begins with a consultation at Salmon Creek Dental. During this consultation, Dr. Jung will evaluate your teeth and determine whether you’re a good candidate for Invisalign treatment.

If Invisalign is a good fit for your needs, We will take digital impressions of your teeth using a special scanner. These impressions are used to create a custom treatment plan that includes a series of clear aligners that will gradually shift your teeth into the desired position. Once your treatment plan is finalized, you’ll receive a set of custom-made aligners. You’ll wear each set of aligners for a period of time before switching to the next set in the series. As you progress through the series, your teeth will gradually move into the desired position. The aligners are made from a comfortable, BPA-free plastic material that’s designed to fit snugly over your teeth. They’re also removable, which means you can take them out for eating, brushing, and flossing. However, it’s important to wear the aligners for at least 22 hours per day to ensure that the treatment progresses as planned.

Throughout the treatment process, you’ll have regular check-ins with Dr. Amy Jung to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. On average, treatment with Invisalign takes about 12 to 18 months, although this can vary depending on the complexity of your case.

Invisalign is a popular orthodontic treatment option because it’s comfortable, convenient, and virtually invisible. It’s a great option for adults and teens who want to straighten their teeth without the hassle and visibility of traditional metal braces. If you’re interested in Invisalign treatment, contact Salmon Creek Dental to schedule a consultation and learn more about how Invisalign can help you achieve a straighter, more confident smile.
